FAQ
How is local SEO different to normal SEO?
A regular SEO campaign focuses on a broader range of keywords, perhaps nationally or globally. Local SEO is for local businesses that operate in a specific area. Businesses with a physical location, such as a shop or restaurant, can benefit greatly from local SEO, and don’t generally require broader SEO work (because it doesn’t drive local revenue).
Does local SEO include paid ad campaigns?
No, local SEO and PPC campaigns are different types of digital marketing. The long-term ROI of local SEO is far superior to that of Google Ads, but PPC campaigns help to bring in leads almost immediately. I’ve worked on a number of campaigns that have included both elements, with the aim of tapering off paid ads as organic traffic grows.
What is the Google Map Pack?
The Map Pack is the block of three Google Business profiles (and one sponsored result) that appears at the top of the search results when searching for a local service. It’s accompanied by a map, and these results receive approximately 40% of all clicks for local search.
How do you know what local keywords to use?
Every local SEO campaign that I work on involves in-depth keyword research relating to your services and local service areas. I’ll use this research to write content that helps your landing pages rank for those terms, bringing in high-intent local traffic.
Are Google reviews really important for local search?
Yes, Google reviews are a critical ranking factor for your business profile. The more good reviews your business gets, particularly those that mention key terms around your services, the more likely you are to rank in the Map Pack.
